Week 7 Camp Skipping Cricket

We are excited that you will be joining us for your summer! Camp is located at LEAD Elementary School, 949 Ocean View Ave. Please enter from Dale Ave.

Your 2015 Summer Camp Lead staff will be:

Caterpillars (Kindergarten), Group Leader: Roxy Nielsen

Butterflies (First Grade), Group Leader: Malu Alegria

Bumblebees (Second Grade), Group Leader: Jenna Harris

Grasshoppers (Third Grade), Group Leader: Stefano Raccanelleo

Fireflies (Fourth Grade), Group Leader: Michael Cirelli

Dragonflies/Beetles (Fifth/Sixth Grades), Group Leader: Quinta Ekong / Matt Mederios

Every day, your child will need to bring/wear:

        -Water bottle

        -Comfortable clothing/closed toed shoes

        -Sunscreen

Lunch:

We eat lunch at 11:30am, we will provide a morning and afternoon snack.

The San Mateo-Foster City School District will be providing a free school lunch (if you wish) to all participants this summer. No separate registration needed.

Things to leave at home:

        -Toys/stuffed animals

        -Electronics (phones, iPods, mp3 players, video games, etc.)

        -Playing cards/board games

Our traditional day camp offers indoor games and activities, outdoor games and activities, reading, art, science experiments, morning and afternoon assemblies. Make sure to pick up the ‘highlights’ page for grade specific details.

Monday

1st day of camp! We will begin the day by doing some icebreakers and games to help everyone get to know each other, understand the rules of camp, and go over drills in case of an emergency.

Tuesday –Local Trip (Advanced registration required)

We’ll be headed to the Bel Mateo Bowling in Belmont from 10:00am-3:00pm. Please send your child to camp wearing their camp shirt and lunch.

Wednesday- (No advanced registration required)

We will be swimming from 12:45-4:30pm. K-3rd grade will walk to Joinville Swim Center located at 2111 Kehoe Avenue in San Mateo. 4th-6th grade children will hop on the school bus to at King Pool located at 725 Monte Diablo Avenue in San Mateo. Children will need a swimsuit, towel and sunscreen.

Thursday-Adventure Trip (Advanced registration required)

We are making memories at the Golfland in San Jose from 8:30am-5:00pm. Children will need to wear their camp t-shirt, bring a lunch, wear comfortable clothing, socks and tennis shoes.

Friday

Friday’s are theme days and special events at Camp Skipping Cricket. This Friday’s theme is “Summer Blowout.” Children are encouraged to dress like sea creatures.

Pickup/Drop off:

All sign in/out is located in the lobby.

Everyone picking up a child from camp must bring a photo ID.

Please no late drops offs or early pick-ups at offsite locations.

*Please ensure that you pick your child up at the designated time that their program ends to avoid a late fee of $1 per minute.

Reminder that camp hours are as follows:

        -AM Session 7:30am-12:30pm*

        -PM Session 12:30pm-6pm*

        -Full Day Session 7:30am-6pm*

Create, Mix & Mingle will be coming to us for this on campus field trip. From 10:00am-4:00pm they will be leading us through a creative art experience. Each child will take home their own art canvas.

Our overnight to Jungle Island is scheduled from 4:00pm on Thursday to12:00pm on Friday. Children will need to wear their camp t-shirt, bring a sleeping bag, pajamas, change of clothes, wear comfortable clothing and socks and tennis shoes. The field trip includes an evening snack, dinner and breakfast.

 

Friday

Friday’s are theme days and special events at Camp Skipping Cricket. This Friday’s theme is “Olympics.” Children are encouraged to dress like a super hero.

We are headed to Aqua Adventures from 9:30am-5:00pm. Children will need to wear their camp t-shirt, pack a lunch and wear comfortable clothing and socks and tennis shoes. The bus will leave promptly.

Reminder: No camp Friday, July 3rd
